In this powerful episode of Sanctified & Stilettos, Dr. Heather E. Burton sits down with Adena Calhoun Walker and Joanna Williams for an honest, transparent, and often uncomfortable conversation about sex, faith, and the church.

Why is sex still considered taboo in many church spaces? How have generations of silence, shame, and misinformation shaped the way women view intimacy, relationships, and marriage? What happens when young people are told "just don't do it" without being given the tools to understand healthy relationships, sexuality, and personal boundaries?

Together, the ladies unpack:

* The church's historical approach to sex and purity culture
* How shame impacts women before and after marriage
* Double standards between men and women in church communities
* The effects of church hurt and public judgment
* Raising daughters and sons with healthy conversations about sex
* The importance of trusted adults, transparency, and mentorship
* Why faith and sexuality don't have to exist in separate conversations

This episode is thoughtful, empowering, and filled with wisdom for women, parents, church leaders, and anyone navigating the intersection of faith, femininity, and relationships.

Sanctified & Stilettos | Sex, Shame & the Church | Strategic Moves Network

Strategic Move Media Network June 6, 2026 1:19 am

Pastor Courtney Jenkins: "I Got a Payroll to Meet — If I Fumble the Ball, It's Not Just My Life." Sanctified & Stilettos gets real on church scandal, pastoral divorce, and protecting what 15 years of blood, sweat, and tears built.

This clip carries four moments that each could stand alone.

First: Pastor Courtney Jenkins watching a pastor she preached for lose everything on TikTok — his marriage, his congregation's trust, multiple women coming forward — and saying plainly: "I'm watching him lose everything."

Then: the real reason her dating policy exists. Not just theology. Not just Eli's sons. But this — she grew her congregation from 40 people to over 400 in person and 250 online. She has a payroll to meet. If she fumbles the ball, it is not just her life affected. It is every person who puts food on their table working under her leadership.

Then: the divorce. She found out her marriage was over on a Saturday night at 6 PM. She was a hot mess. And she is publicly grateful that it happened during COVID — because no one was in the sanctuary. Just the staff. And her friend who does her makeup running up to bring down the puffiness so she could get back up.

Then: the email. She sent her congregation a letter telling them about the divorce — and in it, she didn't just share the news. She told them exactly what she needed from them. Her PR friend's advice was simple: if you don't tell people what to do, they make it up. So she told them: respect my privacy, don't discuss this, and I'm asking you as a mother — help me protect my child.

The Pastor’s Dating Scandal: Why I Had to Protect My Peace | Sanctified & Stilettos

Strategic Move Media Network June 2, 2026 8:00 pm

Faith Leaders Dating Publicly — Unfiltered. Two single Cleveland pastors get real about dating, divorce, NDAs, the fishbowl effect, and why the church needs to stop telling people what God won't do. Sanctified & Stilettos with Dr. Heather E. Burton.

What does dating actually look like when people see you as a spiritual leader first and a person second? Dr. Heather Burton sits down with two well-known single Cleveland pastors — Pastor Courtney Clayton Jenkins of South Euclid United Church of Christ and Reverend David Cobb of Emanuel Baptist Church — for one of the most honest conversations about faith, dating, and leading a congregation you will find anywhere.

Nothing is off the table.

Pastor Jenkins has a written dating and monogamy policy every leader in her church must sign. She requires a non-disclosure agreement from anyone who wants to know her beyond her title. She does not want to date anyone local. She is not interested in getting married. And when the church comes for her about it? "Come for me. I don't care."

Reverend Cobb brought someone to church once — in his 20s. Never again. He wants clarity, reciprocity, peace, and a person who respects his calling before anything else moves forward.

Both are recently divorced. Both are navigating the fishbowl — the reality that as public figures in ministry, every move they make is being watched by every person who has ever sat in their congregation.

And both deliver lines in this episode that will stay with you.

In this episode:
- Are pastors celebrities — or public figures? And what's the difference?
- The dating and monogamy policy — why it exists and what happened that made it necessary
- The NDA: why Pastor Jenkins requires one and why the men she's dated have welcomed it
- The fishbowl effect — you're a fish in a fishbowl, and they are watching everything
- One opportunity: why dating within the congregation is a one-shot risk
- The Eli warning: his sons had relations with women in the church and the glory of the Lord left the temple
-
- "Can you trust the evolution of them?" — the relationship question nobody asks but everybody should
- Advice to young pastors: know who you are before someone else decides who you are for them
